Ethereal: A Styled Shoot

"There is no remedy for love, but to love more." - Henry David Thoreau

I had such a fun time designing the paper goods for this lovely styled wedding shoot near Collinsville, Illinois, about 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. The shoot was designed and photographed by Brian Munoz of Studio Fiftyone Photography. Brian dubbed this styled shoot "Ethereal": earthy, with a slight vintage feel, yet airy and light. The theme of the shoot turned out to be perfect for the newlyweds, Tim and Amanda, who are obviously head over heels for each other both in person and in the images below. The color story behind the shoot was a palette of golds, blush pink, and sage green. Tim's green trousers, vest, and bow tie complemented the vintage aspect of the shoot perfectly, while Amanda's beaded tulle mermaid gown was entirely ethereal.

I created a wedding invitation suite that featured a gold calligraphy invitation on cream paper with layers of light gold metallic linen and blush pink papers. The invitation was then wrapped in vellum and tied with a sage green burnout velvet ribbon and metallic gold leather cord. The envelopes were addressed in gold calligraphy and were lined in shimmery antique gold paper that featured a pattern of fern fronds. An insert card with a romantic quote by Henry David Thoreau reminds guests of the most important element of the day: love.

Centerpieces by Flowers to the People dripped with amaranthus, ferns, dusty miller, and lisianthus.

Guests are directed to their dinner place setting by flags made of blush pink and vellum paper, planted in mercury glass filled with pinkish green succulents and moss. The dinner menu showcases sage green calligraphy printed on vellum and tied to metallic gold linen paper with metallic gold leather cord.
