This wasn't going to be just any baby shower- Megan was planning a joint baby shower for both her sister and her sister-in-law who are expecting to become mommas at the same time (their due dates are only two days apart!). I had never heard of this idea before but immediately I thought it was cool. It only makes sense to have one big shower when almost all of the guests are family and would be going to both girls' showers anyway. Now for the tricky part- planning a shower and designing an invitation for two moms-to-be that reflect both of their personalities/tastes AND two different genders (one is expecting a boy and the other a girl!)... AND making it all work together without one overshadowing the other:
- Maria is expecting a baby boy and loves things that are more modern. She's a graphic artist and lives in a contemporary loft.
- Amy is expecting a baby girl and tends to be more traditional. She loves pink and polka dots.
A square seal kept the front of the invitation closed and featured "boy" and "girl" baby buggies with their handles intertwined in a heart shape : )
The flap of the mailing envelope was printed with the return address and the same pair of baby carriages
The inside of the invitation reveals a center panel with all of the shower details and two side panels with each individual mom's details
These invitations are now available to purchase in six different color options.
Thanks so much Megan! You have such creative ideas and it was a pleasure working with you! And many congratulations and blessings to the moms-to-be!
Have you ever been to a joint shower? What kind of theme was it?
